Welcome to the Civil Service Cricket Club web site. We are one of Ireland's oldest cricket clubs. Formed in 1863 in the Phoenix Park, the club is part of the Leinster Cricket Union and currently boasts over 40 members.

Our players are drawn not just from Ireland but from all the major cricketing nations including Australia, South Africa, India, Pakistan and England. Read more about the club in the About Us section ...

Final league standings for 2009 (5th October 2009)

The final league tables have been published for the 2009 season. They see the First team finish 6th in Senior 2, the Seconds finish 2nd in Middle B, the Thirds finish 6th in Junior A and the Fourths finish 4th in Junior C.

3rds lose to Pembroke (25th August 2009)

The 3rd XI showed both their good and bad sides again in a high scoring encounter with Pembroke on Wednesday. The team has come on in the last few weeks and looked a more solid outfit. However, they slacked in patches during their trip to Dublin 4 and were made pay for it.

Thirds beat Knockharley by 5 wickets (17th August 2009)

Civil Service 3rd XI got back to winning ways with a 5 wicket victory over Knockharley at Veldonstown last weekend. After slumping to a heavy defeat to title-chasing Balbriggan a week earlier it was just the tonic the 3rd XI needed ahead of at the start of a hectic run which will see them play 4 matches in 11 days.

Apologies for the delay in posting this. It's just a brief synopsis of the last few First team matches which saw us win 4 out of 5, beating The Hills, Railway, Pembroke and Malahide and losing to Merrion.

Scorecard - Civil Service 1 vrs Clontarf 2, 20 June 2009 (14th July 2009)

A 40 from Gaurav and an excellent partnership between Ashan (42) and Darren (26*) gave Service a reasonably competitive total of 177. However, it wasn't enough as Clontarf reached their target with 2 wickets to spare. Darren picked up 3 for 35, Ahsan 2 for 29 and Urvin was unlucky to go finish wicketless after going for only 14 off his 10 overs.
